Last week Te Ngahere worked on our writing goals, the Walt was to Identify our writing goals. How we selected our goals was by using the goals we didn’t achieve from last term, then we put them onto a google slide where once it gets checked by the teacher we do a drawing. After we put our goals on the drawing we decorate it so the teachers can print it and put it on the wall this parents can see what we've been up to in our learning. I think this will help us become better writers and authors by finding out what we need to do and we can learn what we need to.

During term 2 the Students of Te Ngahere and Te Maunga were doing some art based around koru and kowhaiwhai patterns each representing something, the walt was to draw koru and kowhaiwhai patterns. We did it in a process starting with crayon and with the side we went up and turned to make a koru.

Then we moved on to practicing with pencil and finally we made our final piece.  We did an outline with pencil, painted it with metallic paint, then finally redo the outline with vivid/sharpie.

For Student Led Conferences Te Ngahere made a google drawing, We made it to help show off our learning to our parents so that way they know what we have been doing here in Te Ngahere.

For the subjects we did reading, writing, maths, inquiry and art. I didn’t go to Student Led Conference but it was really fun to make and I was one of the first to finish.

Last week the whole school went to Waitangi Treaty Grounds. we did lots of fun activities. The first thing we we're told to to do was to make manu aute out of niko and we weaved it together, we got into groups of two, I choose my friend and we were the first to finish.
Than we played a game where two people had a blindfold with things similar to maracas and two people had to tag each other it was so much fun. After that we did a game called matou maui where there are two lines of rope and when someone called matou you jump all the way to the right but if they call maui you jump all the way to the left and if they call ki waenganui you jump in the middle. For the last task we planted some trees in a part of the forest and we learned that all the trees out by the whare were all  planted by very important people.

Than after that we finally left it was a pretty fun yet tiring day.
